04j - Expired / Expiring in 60-Days Bonds

Expired Bonds


  1. BOE staff to print the list of bonds that are expired from the on-line Bond System
  2. Select the appropriate record by clicking the Bond Ref No.
  3. For each B-PERMIT bond record:
    1. Verify if the BOND DEFAULT DATE is correct. If the date is not correct, enter the correct date. Click UPDATE BOND INFORMATION.
      • For Subdivision bonds, check if the map has recorded.
      • DEFAULT date for subdivision bonds is 2 years after map recordation.
    2. Click PERMIT CLOSURE CARD
    3. If there is a BCA Final Inspection Date,
      • Check the Default Notice not Required box.
      • Click UPDATE BOND INFORMATION
    4. If there is NO BCA Final Inspection Date,
      • Put a check mark on the list.
      • Prepare document – PROJECT EXPIRATION NOTICE
  4. For each E-PERMIT bond record:
    1. Open the E-Permit application
    2. Search for the E-Permit
    3. Click FINAL INSPECTION record
    4. If there is a FINAL INSPECTION date,
      • Go back to the bond record.
      • Check the Default Notice not Required box.
      • Click UPDATE BOND INFORMATION
    5. If there is a NO FINAL INSPECTION date,
      • Put a check mark on the list.
      • Prepare document – PROJECT EXPIRATION NOTICE
  5. BOE staff to prepare Bond Expiration Letter(s).  Confirm the following information is contained in the letter and is accurate:
    1. Expiration date
    2. CAO #
    3. Address
    4. Title
    5. Permit No.
    6. Surety Bond No.
    7. Surety Company/ Address
    8. Engineering District
    9. Bond Ref No.

Bonds Expiring in 60-Days


  1. BOE staff to print the list of bonds that are going to expire within the next 60-days
  2. SELECT (highlight) the B-PERMIT BONDS ONLY.
  3. For each B-Permit bond record,
    1. Click PERMIT CLOSURE CARD
    2. If there is a BCA Final Inspection Date,
      • Check the Warning Letter not Required box.
      • Click UPDATE BOND INFORMATION.
    3. If there is NO BCA Final Inspection Date,
      • Put a check mark on the list.
      • Prepare document – PROJECT EXPIRATION WARNING NOTICE
  4. Provide the list for CK to prepare the warning letters.
  5. Review the letters prepared by CK.
  6. Check if the following are correct:
    1. CAO #
    2. Address
    3. Title
    4. Permit No.
    5. Surety Bond No.
    6. Engineering District
    7. Surety Company/ Address
    8. Bond Ref No.
